I was so happy to see my partner in crime take his first step back into the powerlifting game since tearing his bicep tendon last year. He has been using EliteFTS seminars and coaching from Steve Goggins to get healthy and strong again. This is what he had to say about the meet.
This past October 17. 2015, I competed in 83kg/183lbs class at the Ottawa Fall Classic OPA(IPF).This was my first meet since rupturing my right bicep tendon last October 18. 2015 at the Northbay Bay Open OPA(IPF). I placed first in my category and was top male lifter with a Wilks of 442.
This past year has been a journey rehabbing and relearning techniques to keep my body healthy. This would not have been possible without the help and guidance of Steve Goggins. I've been training with Steve since attending the powerlifting experience at Elite FTS compound this past summer.
What drew me to training with Steve was his longevity. He has been competing at a high level since before I was born. Also Steve is a master at the deadlift which just happens to be my favourite lift.
I am relatively new to this sport and have learned the hard way it is a marathon not a sprint, if you try and push too hard something tears off. I considering my self lucky that I have able to come back stronger and better than I was before. I credit this to proper coaching, and getting the correct treatment outside the gym.
This meet was a mental hurdle for me and also a step. A step towards to Provincials and hopefully Nationals.
