This April, I competed at CPU Nationals, placing second in the 63kg open category with an 825 lb total, just one pound behind first place. With the guidance of Steve Goggins, I am in pursuit of greatness, both on and off the platform.

As of today, I am exactly 6 days out from The DTS Open in Ottawa Ontario. This is a small local meet through IPF/CPU.

Why did I sign up for this meet?

I signed up for this meet to keep myself accountable to my goals, to test how my training is going, to get to know more people in the powerlifting community, and most of all, to have fun! I have been a nervous, anxiety ridden mess during my last few meets and didn't really get to enjoy them as much as I wanted to because of it. I am going to try to switch gears for this meet and have fun, treat it like a training day at the compound, where I still want to perform my best, but not worry about breaking a National record, or how many wilks I need to win. If I beat my previous best and have fun, I will call it a successful day!

What goals do I hope to achieve?

While I do want to have fun, I still have goals that I set out for myself. I can't set National records at this meet, BUT my ranking on the CPU would be updated based on this meet. My goal is to be in the Top 10 Women's Classic All-Time. This is a goal I had set out for 2015, but I would like to reach that at this meet. At Nationals, I finished with a 825lb/375kg total, so for this meet I'd really be happy with just beating my previous best, BUT my goal for this meet is an 880lb/400kg total. LETS DO THIS!   Planned Openers Squat 281/127.5 Bench 203/92.5 Deadlift 308/140 Goggins and I have ALL my attempts planned out, but I'll keep that a surprise for next week 😉
