To keep this short and sweet, my plans WERE the following:

1. Rehab my squat so I could stay healthy and break records.

2. Come back to the platform at Boss of Bosses and beat those filthy Russians (and Americans).

And then life happened:

Due to some unforeseen and unlikely circumstances at work, I'm out of employment. I will be taking another job shortly, but the first 6-12 months will be extremely time intensive. I hate to make excuses but flying to California for a meet is not super high on my list of priorities at the moment.

This is good for two reasons. I can save a few bucks and I can save my ego. Really the ego thing is not a huge issue for me.  I would have had a great raw bench going into that meet, but I doubt my squat or deadlift would be where I would want/expect.

I always go back to - "what is the goal?"

Well the goals are to break the 220 and 242 world records. I want to today. Right now. But news flash- this is a marathon, not a sprint. My last big meet was RUM8 in Feb 2015. I did one qualifier between then and now where I hit 85-90% and cut it. So if I have to wait another year or two or three, then so be it. I'll get there.

So the update and plans moving forward:

- Rehab is pretty good. I'm staying square in my squat making small improvements each training session.

-It feels better squatting in briefs. I'm getting good feedback as far as positioning during the squat and quite frankly the confidence and support of the gear has made a huge difference.

- I'll be competing at a local meet in Morgantown WV the same weekend as BOB3. And I'll be wearing a Metal V-type squatter and Bash Bench shirt for my first go around at single ply gear. I'm excited. It's given me some new challenges in training. The goals are to stay healthy, have fun, and beat my raw numbers (I'm laughing as I type that because I really don't know if that will happen or not)!
