I assume a lot of my posts in the next month or so will be rambling jibberish, but hopefully I can construct some good vibes to throw your way. At the very least I'll try to make them entertaining.

My training partners told me that I should write about what my dogs did today, or my diet, or my dog's diet.

So without further ado...

Yessie is visiting me this weekend. She cleaned the house, I took her out for Valentine's Day. We have a good system going.  We were out last night, got a good night's rest, and she jumps out of bed in the morning. Me...not so much. I reluctantly rolled out of bed this morning. It's Sunday- usually a training day, but not for five more Sundays.

Yessie cooked me breakfast because she's domesticated and what not. Eggs, bacon, avocado, toast, blueberry pancakes (left over from yesterday but still great). I eat as much as possible at just about every meal, but sometimes it's not as much as I'd like. This morning:

2 eggs (w/ cheese and spinach)

1/2 avocado

2 pieces bacon

1 piece toast

1 blueberry pancake

The dogs got a little bit of left over bacon, toast, and avocado and that made them happy, I think. Really anything makes them happy- like when I leave the room and come back.

We got to the gym at 10am, our normal starting time, but my training partners started at 9am (which they had told me but I completely forgot). So they were through with their 5x10 trap bar deads, 10x10 SL barbell RDL's, and just starting their farmer's walks. They're in offseason mode so we're working on some unilateral and conditioning work.

Yessir worked up and hit a huge 270+80# in chains on the SSB.

We got home and had my mom's beef and noodle soup which is excellent, like all of my mother's cooking. I'm a momma's boy to a T. We go out for dinner almost every week because she likes seeing me or something like that.

1 bowl of soup

2 pieces of bread w/ butter

1 cheese stick

1 orange

Pickens were slim as I'm getting the house ready for my family dinner this evening. I didn't have much leftover food and everything else was prepped for tonight. The dogs got some left over bread and broth, kind of like the soup lines of the Great Depression. I want them to appreciate what a good meal is. I think that's important for your children, regardless if they have fir or walk on two or four legs.

Tonight I'm slow roasting 11lbs of brisket, frying up 5lbs of potatoes, and the women are bringing salad and vegetables. Oh and my sister in law is baking something ridiculous.

I'm also going to start drinking. It's 4pm. I typically don't drink when I'm getting ready for a competition and now with six weeks off I need a new vice. So Bulleit Bourbon and red wine tonight. I'll let you know how it goes.
