I'm not really one to make a predictable new years resolution that can't be measured or achieved. Like, starting in January I will train my back 4 days a week for a year to gain size. Or, I will drink a gallon of water a day. I'm human, c'mon guys.

Rather, I set the year with a word. 2017 was a year of GROWTH. And, although, we grow as people every single day, in a relationship stand point with Casey, that was the word I wanted to work on and wanted to emphasize in my life. In the short years we've been together, 2017 really tested us. Tested me. Again, we're #coupledinstrength airing our honesty to the world. But, we're also a couple trying to find strength and hold on to it. Tightly. That means figuring it out behind the curtains.

On a personal level, patience was the GROWTH for me. I was 6 months in living in Pittsburgh. My interests and passions took a turn for the good. My goals and to-dos were put off. And, taking full responsibility, I took a backseat on what I thought my future looked like. I needed time. And as frustrating and backtracking as that sounds, it paid off.

This coming year, my new intention is to BE BOLD. I registered for classes not for a degree but to grasp the basics and foundation of what my true passion is: marketing/design/photography/and all things related.

How this sounds? Like there's no certainty. Or, too many hobbies. In fact, it's the opposite. The certainty is, I want to do a lot of things. Pursue and try new things whole-heartedly and head on.

I decided not to pretend that I wanted a masters degree. I decided I didn't want to pay off student loans because of it. I decided to invest in experiences and opportunities because that's where the true lessons lie. I'm debt-free - I'd like to ride that train for a bit until there are risks worth taking.

As of January, I will start with a few courses.

I have happily accepted a 3 month internship as acting Marketing Director for Explore Sewickley. As a non-profit status company, they focus on filling vacant storefronts, promoting the commercial business district and creating community events by working with the City Borough Council.

Casey and I are kick-starting our year with our #powerthroughcancer seminar series to raise money for a family in need with the support of our community.

I plan on traveling with my side chick, Heather, to explore, relax, blog and take all the photos I can. Maybe start a blog? A website? I've had a lot of inspiration lately playing around with creative ideas. It keeps me up some nights.

Again, its a matter of soaking in all experiences so 10 years from now, I can filter out what I'm really meant to do. And that's hopefully owning a farm by 45.

I'm excited! The unknown is exciting. Some things may not work out. Some things may lead to some pretty magical paths.

Happy New Year. Cheers to a clean slate.
