Training

Distracted. This is a good word to describe how this training day went, the reason I say this is because I have a problem focusing on my own needs at certain times during training. What I’m trying to get out here is I hold my training facility in very high esteem, I’m very grateful for the owners and I am grateful for them opening their doors to my wife and me to coach out of. I want this facility to have the best equipment, the best knowledge, and the best atmosphere in the area. When members and new people checking the facility outcome in and I see them doing something improperly my nature is to try and help. that being said my entire training session working up to my openers was not my prime focus as we had to new potential members deadlifting and they were not quite in the right positions.

I ended up working to my perceived opener of 365 which felt fine but I am back to dealing with the issues of my butt lifting. This is a normal thing for me in the past, I think I have figured out what to do to alleviate the problem which was worked on during our Spoto presses to follow our main movement. I am spoiled in the fact that the competition we are doing is using EliteFTS benches which we have at our facility that I get to practice on. 345 felt like dog crap and 365, although it moved decently on video, felt way heavier than it looked. As I mentioned back on squat day, I would much rather have the weight feel amazing and look slow than this scenario that I am in with bench, lol.

Back to the potential new clients, I finished my down sets and immediately went over to start talking with them and giving them tips on new positioning cues. I am hoping both of them had a good Takeaway and are able to apply them to their deadlifts. One individual was attempting to pull sumo and he was much better structure to pull conventional the other was pulling sumo and having his hips way too low. both individuals were highly dependent on their quads only and did not know how to properly use the posterior chain to help them in the deadlift which was a large eye-opener for them.
