After doing a meet, its time to take time off from the gym. Take a look at your friendships with your family and friends and decide who is really there form you. Who cares about what you care about. Once you've done a meet and prepared weeks, months, years to do. Who is left in the picture? These are the only people who care about you. This is how you know you didn't sacrifice relationships for lifting purposes, people are meant to fit into your life and you not molding yourself to fit into theirs. Connecting and chemistry isn't a forced subject. It is without any control on either persons part. You just fit and continue to fit well into each others path. You know when you run into an old friend and you just take off where you left years ago. Or when you meet someone and within 5 min you have agreed with everything each other is saying and have had A-Z conversations you can have with no one else. These are the people to hang on too. That's an unbelievable feeling and most people do not even take time to think about it. When I walk into meets and run into competitors and coaches I haven't seen in years and we have The best conversations just like before, its awesome. Its a feeling of belonging and clicking in the same space, same world. I love it!
