The only goal today was to beat last week. Well, that did not happen, the weight stapled me to the floor and not only was the weight lower, it just won. I was able to scrap 3 reps at 545 before I gave up, walked outside and a minute later let my frustration grind me through 2 more reps to get me my 5 total reps (all which were rough to watch especially if you were on the side watching my back). Julia pointed out form issues that I focused on during my drop set with 20 reps, they felt better but got sloppy towards the end as my heart was not happy with how hard it was working.

As mentioned in the video, Trevor Jaffe offered some advice during my initiation of the conventional deadlift and I will be trying the cues next deadlift session to see if I can implement them and they work for me.

There were plenty of variables that made this day rough but work got done, I moved the weight, was not hurt, and got a cheat meal that night to sink my sorrows.

Day 3 – Deadlifts/Back
Pullups – 3x8:
Conventional deads – work up in sets of 5 til heavy, then lighten load and do 10, then lighten load significantly and do 20: failed 545x3 1 minute later 545x2
Seated cable rows – 3x8, squeeze each for 2 seconds ?
Single arm row on chest supported (elbow out) – 3x12 each: 20,25,25
Seated DB rounded GM – 3x12: 50
