After a very successful 5-week raw bench cycle, I decided to do one more before the meet using a close grip. I may not do it right to the finish, with my meet coming up next month, But the extra volume I get from it has proven to be helpful.

Last week called for 6 sets of 2 at 275, which I got through pretty easily. Actually, I pushed the reps on the last set and got 7. My close grip isn't as strong as my wide, so this was a good start.

I usually have to cut this session a little short because I have an hour to keep my kid in childcare, and this was no exception (counting down the days till my little guy starts preschool). I superseded 4 sets of face pulls and rope triceps extensions and hit the road.
