With the meet going on all weekend, we didn't meet to squat, so I did some work on my own at the commercial gym near home.

I hadn't raw squatted in a while (except for warming up for geared lifting) so I decided to work up in just the belt for 5s.

After a 10 minute wait for an open rack, I worked up like so:

Bar x a bunch

95 x 5

135 x 5

185 x 5

225 x 5

275 x 5

315 x 5

365 x 5

405 x 5

The 405 felt really light, and with a better set-up, I think I could have gone much higher. between the standard rack forcing my grip closer, and the whip from the crappy bar, my elbows and shoulders were on fire by the last set.

Every time I try to squat outside of a powerlifting gym, I make a mental note to never do it again. Every six months or so I forget, and my body pays the price. Oh well.

Did 4 sets of 15 back extensions after that, but didn't have time for more because my hour of childcare was up.

I was pissed that I screwed my arms up on what was basically a light day, but I was happy with how light the weight actually felt.
