I am here to live, learn, and pass on.

So, I have decided to take this week off. I posted on my Facebook Saturday's training, which included log presses, that I wasn't too happy about in regards to technique and speed. Given that I have only completed 2 strongman events, I don't have much experience under my belt. This week I will be brainstorming and planning out my trainings for the next few weeks, still utilizing the Westside/Conjugate methods. My focus is to still incorporate powerlifting into my Strongman training and add strongman events and supplementary work (for the time being) that focuses on the events that I will be doing in Nationals and local comps prior to Nationals . I had the privilege to speak to Amy Wattles, Clint Darden, and Chase Karnes, about their Strongman training; knit-picking their brains about their training and strongman prep. This is also the moment when I realized how fortunate I am to be surrounded and part of a team that is so supportive and helpful, and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to talk to them, and how they took the time to help me.

With that being said, things are "under construction", so here are some great reasons why you should box squat:

1. Reinforces good squat technique

2. Strengthens all squatting muscles (hips, glutes, lower back and hamstrings)

3. You'll always hit parallel

4. Your butt will grow

If all fails, you can always do it for reason #4

Thank you for being a part of my journey. Suggestions and comments are always welcomed!
