Monday was a shirt day.

Since I'm starting a contest cycle, it's time to get my shirt dialed in for the meet. Right now, I have two Aces, in play, a 52 and a 54. Since I don't like to gamble on touching (especially after bombing out of bench at Worlds) the number 1 priority is making sure I have a shirt I can touch in consistently right now. After that, I'll keep experimenting with tighter stuff to see if I can break in a "home run" shirt.

After warming up raw, I worked up to 275, then went ahead and got the 52 on with 315. That's much lighter than I would usually get it on, but my shoulders and elbows were still killing me from the previous session so got it on early for the protection.

the 315 hit the board, but HOLY CRAP was it tight. Since the goal was to touch, I decided to change right into the 54. I will keep the 52 in the mix as a board shirt and see if I can break it in to the point I can touch in it reliably.

405 - 3 board

495 - 2 board

545 - 1 board

585 - touch

The touch was nice and smooth, but by now, my arms were really inflamed and I couldn't drive on the weight like I need to.  So although my body was kind of crap, the shirt is doing it's job.

Finished with Nautilus pullovers so I could get some back work in without further f*ing up my arms, and that was all she wrote.

Now that I'm in meet prep, I'm going to have to be a lot more careful about beating up my arms doing stupid crap and keep my heavy gear work as the priority. I've dealt with this inflammation before and its not a huge deal. It'll clear up with just a couple of weeks of better decisions.
