Last Sunday was a squat session at Apollon.

I was working up in full gear in order to choose my equipment for the upcoming meet in November.

I was torn between my 54 Ace (with Pro briefs) and my 52 Jack (no brief) that I wore at my last meet where I set a 5lb pr.

Started in the 52 Jack, and got to 690 before it set in that this was not the suit for me! Too much weight gain since the last meet made it way to difficult to get anywhere close to parallel, even with no brief.

Switched to Ace/Pro and I could definitely get down easier, but after struggling against the small Jack, my form was screwed up and I kept going into my knees. I should also note that I was coaching at an 11 hour meet the previous day, and was probably a little burnt out. Shut it down at 740. I was pissed that my last few sets sucked, but at least I know without a doubt what I will be wearing.

Finished with reverse hypers and some crunches on an ab machine.

Monday was a bench day at Apollon. We were working up raw on a two board. I had a so-so day, making it up to 385, which I do not believe is a pr (couldn't access my log for some reason). However, when I put the Metal Catapult on for a few more sets, I was able to get up to 495 with relative ease. So while my raw bench is a bit down, My lockout strength is meet ready!

My arms were pretty beat from the squats on the previous day, so I used the pullover machine as my second movement, and finished with lateral raises with dumbbells.

So just an ok couple of days, but I'm still feeling super confident about the meet next month!
