Now I'm 5 weeks out from the Arnold Classic 21 deadlift salute. Tonight was squat day but I ended up doing more coaching than lifting. I train with a couple young guys training for the Ohio High School State Championship meet. It is an unsanctioned meet but draws a ton of high school kids. You're allowed to wear a single ply squat suit, but no other gear for bench or deadlift. So, tonight Hunter, who lifts at 165 had to settle for a single ply metal deadlifter that I had from when I lifted at 198. He ended up hitting a PR of 475 at around 170 bodyweight.

My workout- or lack of:
barx10
1 plate x 10
2 plates 2x10
3 plates 2 x 5
4 plates 1 x 3

At that point from wrapping knees my forearm pump was ridiculous.
I did salvage my workout by hitting 10x10 standing abs. Followed by 4x10 single leg hammer strength hamstring curls.

I'm not overly disappointed by my lack of squatting tonight because Wednesday I'm going to pull heavy against bands and that should give me a good idea of where I'm at.

Here is a video of Hunter's squat from tonight. There's still a lot we're working on but he's getting strong!
