Sunday was a squat day, and it was time to gear up for some technical work. Shirt work has been going great, but I've been having some sizing issues in the squat. My suit and briefs fit great in the hips, but were a little too snug in the legs. To try and fix it, I cut the legs short on both, and this was going to be my first test run.
Warmed up raw to 340, then went up like so:
Briefs
430 x 1
Added suit bottom
520 x 1
610 x 1
Straps up
700 x 1
Straps up & wraps
750 x 1
Reverse light band
820 x 1
The 750 was a little hard, but clean. The 820 was actually a bit easier.
I still don't know if I like this gear combo. I wouldn't mind wearing something that lets me hit parallel just a little easier. I'll give it another go on our next full gear squat day, but there's a chance I'll say f-it and wear my 52 Jack with no brief like I did at my last meet. With the 7 extra pounds I'm carrying, it should be plenty supportive enough to hit a pr in.
After squatting, I finished up with reverse hypers, hip adduction and abs.
