Just a small rant.....

Today I went to a meet and it was ran well, however meets have been ran the same for 50 years and we wonder why we can't get a bigger audience?.... The music is loud for the lifters' not the people watching.  This is a big problem for non-powerlifting viewers. How about direct the boom box speakers towards the lifters', it is for them anyways. This would allow the audience to talk to one another without yelling. I sat back and watched viewers come and go and most people stepped out into the hallways to have conversations. Isn't the point to try to keep the audience in the actually meet to watch the lifter. This may be just me getting older but I have learned that is you can't keep People's attentions , they will find something that will interest them. To grow the sport we need to make a few changes to the environment for better viewing. Powerlifting is a great sport and an even better community of people. But we don't represent this so well at meets. How do we change this view?
