I've probably said this a handful of times now but I have had a huge amount of support from friends, family, teammates, and the badass EliteFTS fans that read my training log. Again, thank you.
The obvious question I get- "when are you going to start training again?" Great question.
From my last post, I'm on Prednisone and Humira. Prednisone is a catabolic steroid that tears down muscle tissue, where anabolic steroids build muscle tissue.
Based on my current bodyweight, caloric intake, and activity level, I'm eating enough food that I should be gaining weight steadily. Up until 2-3 days ago that was not the case- I was still 180-185 depending on water weight. The weight gain (sitting around 188-192) the last few days is encouraging, but logically I should probably get to 200lbs or so before I start even thinking about training.
Why would I want to train and tear down even more muscle tissue if my body is unable to feed the tissues I have at 185-190?
Plus, I don't want to train. I still feel like shit. I feel 'better' than I did but I really don't know how I could have felt any worse at that point.
With that being said, of course I've been thinking about what the hell I'm going to do when I get back. Full disclosure: I squatted the bar the other day just to see if I could do it. Not joking, I was worried. Every time I stand up I'm dizzy. If I stand for too long my legs get shaky. If I'm standing and leaning on something my arms get shaky. You get the picture...
I'm thinking very simply when I come back...
Four training days
Week 1:
Day 1 -2-3 Squat - Bench - Deadlift 135 x 50 reps in as few sets as possible
Day 4 Kettelbell/Bands/Carries or sled
Week 2:
Day 1-2-3 Squat - Bench - Deadlift 185 x 50 reps in as few sets as possible
Day 4 Kettelbell/Bands/Carries or sled
Week 3 -225x50, Week 4- 275x50, Week 5- 315x50
It's likely pretty worthless for me to plan this because this will either kill me and be too much too soon or I'll adapt too quickly and need to change course before the end of the five weeks. But it doesn't hurt to plan and it obviously makes my balls tingle to think about training again. *Don't tell Yessie.*
