We are in Chicago Illinois for the Kabuki Strength Seminar and we needed a place to train. Mike and Gina Mireles who own and run High Performance Fitness in Mattson Illinois opened their doors to us and were the best host's ever. There gym is in a small industrial area and it is the perfect size to get work done. The place is well kept, clean, and has all EliteFTS equipment!!!! It was a home away from home and a trip down memory lane as he captures past EliteFTS moments through pictures and has them made into posters! Mike was one of the first people I met at LTT7 as he was in my group, I have stayed friends with him ever since and it is always good to see him. His passion for strength and conditioning oozes from his facility and seeing him work with his athletes was awesome.
Training took my soul today, there are very few times where I bail on attempting prescribed exercises but today was one of those days. I could not handle snatch grip deadlifts at 60% for my secondary movement, I finished one set and it took me about 15 min to keep down my intra workout drink and I knew there was no way I was going to finish to more rounds. I dropped the weight and accepted that I lost this battle to the bar lol. I sluggishly finished my workout and relaxed prior to learning from the Kabuki Strength Crew.
Did not get video of my struggling snatch grip leads cause I did not care to mess with my phone at this point during the workout, I just wanted to stop dying.
