Intentions

1) Drop down to the 72kg class comfortably and slowly-- regardless of how long it takes. No shortcuts, and lots of patience. The intent is to never have to crash diet or scramble at the last minute to make weight. Even if that means competing as a light 84kg for a while. Longevity is the goal.

2) Follow my PT and Coaches programming to the letter. Our plan to get me training efficiently and pain free has been working thus far, so I am going to have to fight the urge to train heavy and embrace the nuances of "training smart" (and hopefully heavy once again).

3) Hit a Wilkes PR-- highest thus far was 440.

4) Have more fun, and rediscover my love for getting strong. The journey to recovery from injury has been humbling to say the least, but it's also made Powerlifting "new" again and approaching training with a beginners mind has taught me more about myself as a person and an athlete. I intend to keep this mindset throughout 2017, and focus on the journey of strength-- rather than trying to force any particular outcome.
