After a fairly long hiatus from strongman, I decided to get back in there and compete. I cannot really remember the last strongman competition I did but over the past couple of months I have redefined myself as an athlete and started back to event training. I am pleased with my progress and continue to adapt to my recent rather large weight loss. My next competition is United States Strongman Nationals on June 11, 2016 in Kentucky.

Rolling/Mobility

Really working on these to get ahead of the knee issues and discomfort. Squats have been dropped in the interest of saving the knee. It's falling into the funky/awkward realm of functioning and I don't want to mess anything up more this close to the competition.

Block Pulls

I didn't even make it through the final set of my warm ups. The bar wouldn't budge, even with straps on. As you can imagine, this is incredibly frustrating. The pattern emerging over all is there is one week of GREAT strength, feeling positive and ready to kick butt. Then the next week I am completely wiped out and can't even move warm up weight.

This is a new issue since the weight loss. I am optimistic that I have identified the pattern and adjust training as best as I can right now this close to the competition.
