I'm taking the next 12+ weeks off from strongman events and training primarily for hypertrophy with a slight strength emphasis. I'm in my "off-season" and looking to put on some size over the upcoming months and into next year. I'm working with teammate Mike Mastell on my programming.

This was a "punch the clock" workout so to speak. And funny enough during this session a guy asked me if training was always fun? He had days were it wasn't, but thought it should be. I told him that no, I didn't think it was always fun. Some days you just go in and do it. I've been doing this since I was 14 years old. It's like brushing my damn teeth. It's just something I do. But I also have a passion for it. I love it. I have some amazing training days. It's also my therapy, my escape - it keeps me sane. That doesn't mean it's always sunshine and rainbows though. Life isn't like that in anything. Things that are worth having don't come easy. Whether it be physical strength, mental strength, wealth, relationships, etc. - it all comes at a cost. You get in what you put in. There's no shortcut or secrets. It's easy to sit back and live a mediocre life. It's hard to put all you have into everything that's important to you each day. That takes work and consistency. And anyone telling you otherwise is lying or trying to sell you something.

So that is just what this session was. I just put the work in. It wasn't great, but it didn't suck. It was just work. So I did it.
