I'm taking the next 12+ weeks off from strongman events and training primarily for hypertrophy with a slight strength emphasis. I'm in my "off-season" and looking to put on some size over the upcoming months and into next year. I'm working with teammate Mike Mastell on my programming.
This morning I stopped by the local Farmer's Market before going to the gym to see what all they had. I've stopped by before, but in the past it was typically just locally grown fruits and veggies. Today I hit the jackpot though. There are two local grass-fed beef companies who set up at the market. I bought a nice selection from each of them and stocked up paying $6.00/lb for 85/15 locally raised grass-fed beef. I also got Ribeye for $11.00/lb. This is cheaper than most groceries sell their regular beef. I also got some fresh eggs from a local farmer and some local raw unfiltered honey. Needless to say I'll be heading back. I also suggest seeing if there is a farmer's market in your city. It's always nice to buy local, but when you get quality and prices like that it's even better.
After the market I went by the gym and got in a nice little arm day. My wrist gave me some issues on a few movements, but taping it up seemed to help. It's been bothering me a bit lately, but nothing that messes up my training.
