So what does everyone do after a competition, this question will be answered drastically different depending on who you ask. This blog will describe the downward spiral of destruction that is my, "post meet week deload".

The night after the meet I kicked things of with heading to downtown Memphis to hit up a well known pizza and ice cream joint. The pizza was great, the beer quenching, and the ice cream was to die for. This became an on going pattern the next 2 nights, pizza, beer and ice cream, lol.

I made a very poor athlete decision to train with one of the well known gym bodybuilders on Monday (post meet) just because and my back is still a little wrecked to this day. I highly recommend not training the Monday after a meet unless it is like cardio, leg drags, or tire walks.

Movie nights with the girlfriend filled with popcorn and sodas followed Monday evening after being violated during "training". I think Wednesday I gave my body a break from terrible food which set me up for an amazing upper body pump session Thursday afternoon with the crew, we "bro'd out" like no other in the gym.  This was followed up by meeting my training partner for dinner, who by the way, is the owner of Exlines Pizza! Definitely a good finish for the day after the pump session.

Friday was the day, the day that the all hell breaks loose, me and my girlfriend made weekend plans to visit the Jack Daniels Distillery in Lynchburg, TN. During the planning we decided to go all out and experience what is The Opryland Hotel and Resort in Nashville, TN. This place was crazy, it had a lot of things to see and do tot he point you really did not have to leave the hotel. Just to scale how crazy this is, the resort has 2000 rooms, yes TWO THOUSAND, and a ton of convention centers all in one building.

We made our way downtown Friday evening for burgers, pizza, and whiskey. Saturday was touring the distillery and whiskey tasting followed by below par and overly expensive italian food inside the hotel mecca. It was all made worth it after dinner when we walked to Dave and Busters and played every game possible to win tickets. We got enough tickets and my girlfriend picked out a selfie stick, MOTHER F...... lol. I am not the biggest fan of selfies but, happy girlfriend = happy everything else so it happened and still happening to this day, lol.

The trip home was slightly sad cause the good weekend was over, we made one last stop to the "drive through Safari" which is about an hour North East of Memphis. I would recommend andy couple or family who love animals to check this place out. Word of warning, do not take you "nice" car, some of the animals have horns and may bump into your car. It was a great experience if you love big animals, you can get right up close and personal with them so they can steal food you pay for.

We are now back and trying to "adult again" . It is now 10 days after my weigh-ins for my competition and I am 20 lbs. heavier and still eating. Training started Monday and it is going to be a bear keeping this food down. It was a great weekend and I would suggest it to everyone to check out the distillery and safari experience!
