Thus far this has been a difficult water and salt load week for me. I use the word difficult because prepping for the XPC finals I was able to eat all my meals with no manipulation all the way through Thursday evening. This week I have had to cut carbs out of my last meals starting on Tuesday and all carbs were taken out for all meals Thursday. The kicker is Thursday is my heaviest day of clients and goes from 7am to 7pm, we will see if my last client of the day is still a client after this week, lol. Funny stories during the week from loading salt, I found mixing coffee in was a terrible idea, this was the first time I have puked during a salt load and will never make the mistake of mixing these two substances again. Right after this happened I literally fell asleep sitting up in a chair at NBS with coffee in hand, this did not last long as I dumped the coffee on me and the floor instantly after falling asleep.
Fast forward to Thursday evening, I made it through the day and I was not feeling to bad. Mid-day was rough and I had one client comment on my mood but lets just say I expected that for how they are. Once I got off the scale said 186.4 and I decided to take the plunge into a hot bath with epsom salts. My first round was 15 min long and it was rough, the epsom salts tore me up along with wearing a skull cap I was dying. Lots of self talk by the end of this round and getting lost in music playing but it paid off. After one round I wound up in the 183 range and feeling pretty good, I consulted David Allen as he was taking care of my nutrition and one of my training partners who was a professional fighter who made many weight cuts. We concluded to suffer the current moment and roll through one more round for 10 min. which I did and called the night at 182.6. This is where I called it a night which was a the right thing to do, I floated 2 lbs. overnight and my scale read 180.6 in the morning. This ended up being the best case scenario because the official scale was about .6 lbs. heavier and my official weight was 181.3 which was .5lbs within regulation for RPS.
Got one bag of an LR Ringer IV and one full pedialyte, food for the day would be 6 meals: P-45g / C-100g / F-10 along with water and gatorade all day. I feel good and about to be on meal 4 with a full belly. I am blessed to be in the position competing at home with friends and family around, I will keep the updates coming!
