2018 APF/AAPF IL Raw Power Challenge 12-15-18
This training cycle I have "come across" a benching style that I am not used to, almost as I, stumbled upon it. So many cues that have been given to me over the years, many technique changes, and much frustration. The heavy benches do not feel like grinding presses that I am uncomfortable while doing, there is comfort in my discomfort and I will attempt to explain. Up until this point anytime, there was a heavy bench that I had to strain or work to the lockout, basically, anything over 85%+ I was uncomfortable and my confidence was very low even before I was warming up to bench. Lately, I do not have the same mindset towards bench because I know what it feels like to hit a raw "groove" and if I find it the weight, regardless of the speed the weight moves, I will be under a lot of pressure but overall comfortable and confident I can lock out. Hitting that groove will be the challenge moving forward here toward my next appearance on the platform.
*Bench + Chains 1x3: 300 + 4 chains
*Spotto press 2x12: 225 (smoked, and back nagging)
*Incline DB Rows 4x8:80
*Assisted Pull-ups (Wide, Narrow, Neutral) 8 reps each position = 1: 3 sets
*Bent Over Rear Delt Flies 4x15:20
