Yoga is much more than bendy poses for me. It reminds me to breathe. To question what is important to me in the moment. To get to know my body and about movement. Today, we had to fill in the blank. I want  _________.

My instant response (in my head) was, I want to be free.

This helped me filter out what I needed to dive deep into after class. If I want to be free, where do I feel trapped?

  • Personal life?
  • Expectations?
  • Reputation?
  • Environment?

Develop self awareness. Question your intentions and actions. It's important you don't go through the motions. Much like training. You want to polish your technique. Refine your approach. And get better every time you step under a bar. If you go through the motions, how will you ever learn and identify what you need?
