CJ had his first raw with knee sleeves meet in the 66 kg/145 lb class this past weekend in Marietta, Georgia. CJ learns through repetition (often having to complete a task 1,000 times to be comfortable with it) so we weren’t sure if he’d had enough training to be ready to compete under these circumstances. He ended up doing very well.

He went 2 for 3 on squats going 215, 237, and coming very close with 248 (which would have matched his best squat raw w/knee wraps), but lost his balance while struggling at the top.

He went 3 for 3 on bench with 159, 170, 187 and continues to improve following his shoulder surgery just over a year ago.

CJ won another 4 Gold Medals (they medal for every lift in the Special Olympics) to add to his collection. I have to admit that it’s cool to see that the athlete that received all Bronze is still super happy! Congrats to all of the lifters and coaches!
