This is our second year hosting the Deadlifting for Doggies fundraiser. Deadlifting for Doggies is a no holds barred non-sanctioned 1 rep max deadlift contest fundraiser. This year we decided to have the proceeds go to Sniffing Snouts Pit Bull Rescue. The minimum donation is only $25 to compete, but any donation is appreciated. As you may know, Trinity and I have 3 pitbulls/pitbull mixes (2, Atticus and Pema, were strays, and we rescued our most recent addition, Bella, from the Seminole County Animal shelter) so this is a cause that is near and dear to our hearts.
Sniffing Snouts purpose is to rescue Pit Bulls, while educating the public about animal overpopulation. Their goal is to be part of a solution for ending overpopulation in our shelters, while continuing to maintain a positive name for Pit Bull type dogs!
Pit Bulls are the most over-bred breed of dog in the country, in turn; they are the most common shelter dog and have the highest euthanasia rate. They are working hard to change those numbers, along with the stigma attached to these amazing animals! With education and love, we plan to change the minds of the public and the lives of Pit Bulls everywhere!
We plan to have food and some beer as well.
