People lose sight of the fact that we’re animals. Our bodies only adapt if they’re placed in a situation where they’re forced to adapt.

Most coaches program RPE, or at best percentages of the main 3 lifts. I feel like this is the easy way out. RPE is subjective. If their athletes don’t improve, they can blame them for not working at the correct RPE.

Doing the same 3 motions over and over isn’t going to elicit the same results as a more varied program. While incorporating accommodating resistance is more difficult to program and to perform, it is more likely to force your body to adapt. It makes sense to join a gym where you can do this.

Over the last 6 months BJJ Brown Belt and Gracie Barra Coach Andrew Nevins has made consistent increases in size and strength without injury. This method of training just makes sense.

Here he is squatting 245+80 lbs of chains with a Safety Squat Bar for 3 reps onto a high box, Benching 195+80 lbs of chains off a a 2 board and deadlifting 255 with 80 lbs of chains off of 3" mats at Orlando Barbell while following my Minimalist/M2 Method:
