The other day I was reading Rhode's coaching log in which he was discussing his training. He said he was lacking focus. It's funny because about a week prior Rhodes, Wendler, and I had done a podcast where they helped me direct my training by forcing me to come up with a goal for our next NOV Meet. So I returned the favor with Rhodes'.

I have always been very goal-oriented. For the longest time, the goal was very easy, prepare for my next meet. After retiring from serious competitions my training lost focus. I would fall prey to different ideas from what I'd see and read. The NOV Meets have always been good about bringing me back on track.

With our current situation, I would imagine most people's training has lost purpose. Most people don't even have access to a gym anymore. Those who are lucky enough to have access probably don't have the meet coming up they were planning for. Understandably, that will leave most people a little lost.

I know a lot of people are trying to make do with bands, water jugs, and whatever else they can cobble together. That's a great attitude. Doing something is certainly better than doing nothing.

Now it's time to figure out a goal for yourself. Go time yourself on a mile run or fast walk and then set a goal to beat. Maybe it's time to learn how to do a perfect Turkish Getup. See if you can do 100 straight pushups. You get the picture.

During this time a lot of us feel lost. I know I'm in a much better place when I have something to focus on with my training. This isn't going to last forever. Try to come out of it better than when you went in.

Thanks for reading and stay safe.
