Elitefts™ Advisor and Owner of Mountain Dog Training and Nutrition John Meadows performs squats with the elitefts™ Tsunami Bar.
The use of this bar creates an increased stimulation of the proprioceptors. When these sensory receptors are stimulated at a higher degree than a standard barbell it allows for greater muscle activation and stabilization.
Keys to Success:
- Set the barbell at shoulder height inside a rack.
- Position the bar so it rests across your shoulders and below your neck.
- Position your arms wide on the bar.
- With a tight core push up the bar with your legs and walk the bar out from the rack.
- Feet placement should be shoulder width apart.
- Slightly point toes outward.
- Inhale into the stomach and bend the knees until you reach desired depth of squat.
- Push through the heels and straighten the legs to return to a starting position, exhale.
- Repeat for desired number of reps.
