We're excited to announce Donald Day as the newest addition to Team elitefts.

Since January of 2016, Donald has consistently provided insight from the eye of a young coach to our site. Then and now, we're glad to gain a new perspective from a coach that quite doesn't have it all figured out, yet is eagerly learning from the best.

His first article as a columnist (published today), Meeting of the Minds, illustrates this nature perfectly as he highlights the journey of four coaches, their personal training philosophies and what they’re trying to achieve in-season vs off-season.

More to know about Donald Day:

My name is Donald Day, assistant strength coach at Western Kentucky University. Currently, I serve as a member of our football strength staff assisting with the design/implementation of our annual strength program. While there is nothing I’d rather do than what I currently am (molding young men to be championship caliber adults), I also enjoy writing. In fact as far back as I can remember I always wanted to be a writer. My love for writing was spearheaded by my mother during my younger years. When I was in as little as the third grade my mom was taking me to Shakespearian plays as well as others such as the Phantom of the Opera, Lion King, and many more. She also wanted me to branch out and read as much as humanly possible (which I did). I read a wide range of books from books such as The Big Over Easy (Who Framed Roger Rabbit but in the world of nursery rhymes) to books like F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby (you should all know this one). I had even wanted to become a published author one day.

I made it a goal of mine to try and publish something on EliteFTS. Why? Because I used EliteFTS every single day (love Todd Hamer's work) to broaden my knowledge and help me grow as a strength coach. EliteFTS was one of my lifelines. I knew I could write and with some luck I could write something that was worth reading that could help someone else. Call it cheesy but being a kid from Akron, Ohio, I am always looking to give back to others and take care of my community. EliteFTS is the platform to which I can take care of a different type of community which is the tight-knit strength world. The goal was to put out useful information to people in need of it. In essence to give back to others what EliteFTS gave back to me. Which is what I’ve started to do.
