On this memorial day, while most are sharing memes on social media, Legacies Alive will be undergoing their second Legacy challenge. Their first, Mike's Hiking for Heroes, warranted co-founder Mike Viti to walk 7100kg for the 7100 men and women who lost their lives on the Global War on Terror. I wrote about the event last Fall.
On of the questions I had asked at the conclusion of the article:
One question, that Viti and Faldowski will have to answer when Viti finishes his journey in Baltimore, Maryland is what's next? The last thing Viti and Faldowski want is their co-founded project to end that day. Their dedication is still to providing unwavering support for the families of fallen heroes. Their vision need a home. So, they created Legacies Alive, a non-profit organization to support families by building local memorials. "We are moving at a snails-pace around the country, so we have a lot of time to work out the kinks," says Faldowski. He and Viti started the Mike's Hiking for Heroes Project and Legacies Alive through a series of Skype calls and miles walked along the way. This is a work in progress that is building awareness and national recognition from media Knowing Mike Viti, Mark Faldowski, and Director of Outreach Matt Hernandez personally, I can attest their motivation is for that recognition to be focused on the fallen heroes and not on themselves. This project is the essence of sacrifice. The kilometor traveled in this journey truly honors one of those Fallen Heroes. Every one of the 7100.
Well it seems that question is answered. The following is information about their 2nd Legacy Challenge.
The mission of Legacies Alive is to provide unwavering support to families of the fallen by ensuring the legacies of our fallen heroes are forever alive.
We are proud to announce our 2015 Legacy Challenge, “Swim For Their Sacrifice.” Legacies Alive is very excited to sponsor our next athlete, Chris, as he swims the entire length of the Mississippi River in honor of our Fallen Heroes who left behind spouses.
In honoring them, we honor all of our fallen and all of our Gold Star Families. He will be swimming 3,760 kilometers, which is the number of selfless spouses whose husband or wife laid down his or her life for our Country.

Trying to figure out where Chris is now. We are his grandparents and we want to go to Memphis when he get there to see him but cannot tell where he is. We live in Nashville.
Thanks
I posted the original article and I try to keep us with Chris via the Legacies Alive Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/LegaciesAlive or via the Legacies Alive website. I can't tell you how unbelievable humbling it is to follow Chris and his journey. I know you are proud of him.
