When I was invited back to ETS to teach another workshop I did not hesitate with my answer. Earlier this year Ken and I attended at ETS and put on a 3 hour workshop for their trainers. Read about that here in my blog. Tonight I had the privilege to teach their athletes and some trainers as much as I could in one hour.

17 people including 6 members of my North American Outlaw Kettlebell club attended. I took 23 of my competition sport bells to use as I like those bells to teach with.

What we learned in one hour is amazing

I always teach the swing first, two handed swing, one arm swing then the alternating swing.

Next up was the Clean, ah yes the Kettlebell clean, a very hard move to master but important to get it right before you proceed with moving the bells overhead. Watch here on how to "Master the Kettlebell Clean"

Next up was the press. Pretty simple, but effective. It is important to note you never press a kettlebell from the outside of your shoulder, always keep your hand in the middle of your chest to avoid shoulder injury. We worked a bit on the push press and demonstrated the Jerk but did not have time to teach that move.

Next we put the clean and press together, finally got people working hard.

The highpull was next, I love the highpull, this move if done correctly works the upper back, shoulder, traps, delts, core and gives you amazing grip strength.

Drum roll please, the most loved and hated at the same time move, the SWING SQUAT. As if we weren't sweating enough already, the swing squat is a superior metabolic conditioning move that will take your conditioning to the next level.

We put that move together with the drop squat and superset the two for one min and the group was amazed.

The goblet squat is a great move to use on it's own or put in with some compounds which is what was next on the agenda.

Time was running out but to be honest I was surprised how much we got through in a short period of time. It's great teaching a group of people who get the moves and are eager to learn.

Now for the FUN stuff. Time to put it all together with everything we learned into a fun circuit of Kettlebell Compounds.

5 Swings/5 Highpulls/ 5 Cleans/ 5 Presses/ 5 Squats switching sides then repeat.

Compounds were a hit so we did a finisher set of the same but with 7 reps each. Kettlebell compounds are a full body session and can used on their own for your metabolic conditioning.

What an amazing night, special thanks to ETS for inviting me back out to live, learn and pass on. Kettlebells are my passion and anyone taking one of my classes, a private lesson or just watch me train can see that. I am currently working on a blog 101 kettlebell exercises. Stay tuned for that you won't want to miss it.

Train safe, train hard and use those bells efficiently and effectively.

Here is a great article from Kettlebell Ken, Kettlebells for conditioning and strength.
