This took a while to get out because Shannon and I are trying to sell our condo to upgrade to a bigger place. Getting and keeping a house show ready sucks. Wtih a 2 year old it's brutal.I don't have my office setup either.
After the hour or so hanging out with Donnie Thompson and Joe DeFranco, we (all the presenters still there) met in the lobby and were heading to supper. Matt brass ventured in to join us as he was a key in the process.
We all decided to walk over to the resturant. That sucked haha.
On the trip over, Shannon, Matt and I got to listen to some crazy stories from Dr. Eric Serrano and Dr. Tom Bilella. These guys were a riot.
When we got to the resaurant, we sat at a table with JL Holdsworth, Joe DeFranco, Julia Ladewski, John Meadows, Dave Tate, and Dr. Tom. This combination lead to countless stories about "back in the day". Most of which cannot be written about. The best part was Dave calling a JL a pussy. I thought they were going to fight. Then the waitress brought food. Everything was fine after that.
The table beside us had some greats too. Bill Kazmaier, Donnie Thompson, Rick Collins and my boy Dave Sandler. Dave adn Rick made me drink Sake. It wasn't that awful. We then ordered a bottle for our table and everyone took a shot. I didn't find out until after that your are supposed to sip sake and not shoot it. Oh well.
Once the meals and pleasantries were over, we were all heading back to the hotel. Shannon Matt and I were told to wait for a cab. We did. But, Dave Tate and Donnie Thompson were walking back. That means we were walking back.
We had a great talk with Donnie on way back, about a 15 minute walk. It was really windy about about 25 degrees out. Once back at the hotel, Matt took of for the night and Shannon and I were left in the lobby with Super D, Dave Tate, Joe Defranco and Ryan Smith. Then the stories started!! We went and sat in the sweet lounge area they had and got to chat for about 2 hours. I felt like the host of a talk show covering everything in powerlifting, training and business. I said about 12 words in that 2 hour span.
As everyone that knows any of these guys, I cannot write on internet any of the stories we spoke about. But, the knowledge that was being passed back and forth was astonishing!!! It was crazy that they let me sit in on such a great conversation. But, like most people in this industry, they are just people. People that are super nice and have achieved great things!
Finally at 12:30 I got to the point where I couldn't stay awake any more. Lights out there.
This was one of the greatest weekends in my life. Also, one of the most life changing. Meeting and talking with so many of the greatest people in their fields opened my eyes to the possibilities of life!
