I will post this is a sweet trilogy
The Cut
Going into this meet, I was going to have one of the easiest cut of my life. It was only 12 lbs.
I started at 254 and needed to weight in at 242. Shannon helped me with cleaning up my diet a couple weeks out that got me into a good position. With the typical water cut I do, I was easily able to get down to the 242. I even got to eat on the Thursday night once we were in Columbus.
The Drive
I lucked out huge and Uncle Brett was able to make the drive down with Shannon and I. Shannon doesn't like to drive in the US and I was not eating and in a bit of a pissy mood. Having Brett there to drive most of the way was key to a good start to the weekend.
The Hotel
We stayed at the La Quinta Inn in Grove City. I highly recommend it. It was only 15 mins from the venue and nice sized rooms with a comfy king size bed.
The Morning of weigh ins
On my scale in the hotel, I was 242 on the button. This made me happy haha. So, Shannon and I headed over to the venue to weigh in. I managed to get to 240.8, which is the lightest I've been in many meets. Probably since the Pro/Am in 2011. From there we headed over to a Cracker barrel alone. As the rest of our team decided that they would like to stand in line at the expo haha.
I didn't get anything epic for breakfast, just a regular one. But, I didn't finish it. That should have been a warning sign right there.
We went back to the hotel for a nap, then headed into the expo to see Jay Nera and Kade Weber lift in the Animal cage. Jay ended up inviting me and Shannon into the cage! That was cool as shit haha
Heading to Elite FTS
After the cage, we headed back to the hotel to grab some food and then out to EliteFTS to see all the winners of the sweet tshirt contest. I did my best to meet everyone and help out where I could without gassing myself out for the next day.
Part two I will go over the day of the meet!!
