I recently lifted in the 2019 USPA National Championships where I totaled 1767 in wraps at 198 via a 655 squat, 451 bench and 661 deadlift. Next up is an off-season and picking a meet.
Last weekend Chelsea and I went up to Traverse City, Michigan with my family for a long weekend. My mom has been taking this trip for several years now, it consists of eating, swimming, eating, shopping and eating. Not a bad way to spend 4 days! Traverse is a cool little city, right on the bay. My attitude for training while I was up there was that if I found time, that's great, but if not I didn't care. Being in the off-season it didn't matter much.
Well, after 3 days of not moving much and eating poorly I was ready to train. Found a local spot and got some accessory work in. Combined some of what I would do on days 3 and 4 to get it done.
Barbell Rows - Several sets of 8 through 225
Lat Pull Downs - Sets of 12 on a giant Cybex machine
Face Pulls - About 100 reps with a mini band
Close Grip incline- On the worlds most awkward incline bench, sets of 5 at 185
Machine Chest Press- 12s on another giant Cybex machine
Rope Pressdowns - 100 reps
Nothing fancy. Just picked 3 exercises from both day 3 and 4 to get moving and use up some of the sugar I had eaten.
