I guess I am going to have to steal a quote from Kenny ROgers "Sometimes just have to know when to hold them and know when to fold them". Today was the day that I had to fold them so to speak. My elbows are in so much pain that I just can't take it anymore. I don't want to continually make the situation worse by benching any heavy weight right now.

Bench pressing is the only thing that truly irritates my elbows right now. And when I mean irritates, I mean imagine 1,000 ten penny nails being driven into your elbow at one time with sledge hammers and then gasoline being poured on top of it them and set aflame.... yeah type of pain lol.

Every training cycle that I have ever done throughout my career has posted up some type of obstacle that I have had to overcome. Whether it was life in general, loss, injury, work, money, or self doubt, sometimes shit just happens and this obstacle is no different. After 25 plus years of competing and 700,000 miles of pressing with my elbows and millions of reps on the bench press throughout the years, has taken its toll. Instead of putting my head down and ramming it into a brick wall over and over again, I am going to try something different. I am going to rest these old elbows for a week or two, or maybe three. Because I am several weeks out from this meet, I have time to do so.

So today I just loaded, spotted, handed off and coached more. I also did some light accessories that did not bother my elbows much so I would at least feel like I had done something lifting wise anyways. I will remain as smart as I can and monitor my elbows and do some extra rehab at home in hopes of reviving these old bones and joints that I have
