Get Stung
I had planned a sweet video for you this week instead of writing but my stupid software was missing an MP4 codec so I couldn’t edit the video.
I have used this software about 7,998,784 times and it was never missing before.
What do you do?
Email customer service. No reply.
Use the help section of the software? Never a good idea.
I click the link to activate the codec and it says to enter the code you received via email for activation.
I bought the software in a store. Old school like Stevie P.
I don’t have an email activation code, so you don’t get a video.
Don’t worry, I’ll have one by next week.
Anyway, I was going to shoot a video on the Spud Inc. Hamstinger.
It’s a great little gizmo Uncle Spud invented for those who don’t have a leg curl machine.
We don’t really have any machines at TPS so I ordered up a few Hamstingers to use with my two injured powerlilfters, you know, the Chief and Laurie.
We are slowly introducing lower body back into their training and will be doing Terminal Knee Extensions (TKE) with a band and leg curls.
If this is tolerated, we’ll move on to the next step which will be high block, light weight Sumo Deadlifts and some Prowler pushing in a few weeks.
Anyways……
Here is the Hamstinger in all of its glory.
The Stinger comes in two types.
(Note: the Chief is practicing her game show assistant skills here)
And
Deeluxe. I added the extra "e" ‘cuz it sounds classier. Spud will appreciate that.
Using the Stinger:
Just clip it to a cable stack or a band around a rack and put your foot in it.
Brace your abs down hard and DON’T ARCH.
Split your stance and align the foot that has the Hamstinger on it as pictured.
Toe in line with the lead heel.
Straighten the leg and curl your heel to your butt.
Repeat for a bunch of reps and get some volume.
There are many more ways to use the Hamstinger, this is just one.
And here is a picture of me doing an Edema Bench variation the other day.
I love Safety Squat Bar JM Presses for bench assistance.
Me and the Chief added them in Edema style for sets of 8.
Give these a shot even if your back isn’t jacked. It adds a new level of suck to them.
That’s all for now.
I have to go and prepare for tomorrow.
I am taking my 11-year-old to see the Bruisers and Boston Strangler.
He loves the punk shows.
Huge thanks to my friend Mary for getting the tickets.
One last thing, let’s all wish Steve Goggins a speedy recovery from his latest surgery.
