Although many lifters come to the XPC feeling anxious about competing and looking to hit a new personal record, for Dave Kirschen the trip to Columbus this year has provided him with a much-needed break from the realities of life. The last month has been extremely difficult emotionally for Dave after a beloved member of his family passed away, forcing his training routine to be sporadic and unorthodox. Dave is not concerned about breaking personal records, he is just looking to be surrounded by familiar faces, loving teammates and the comforting environment a powerlifting meet provides.
Results
Dave recorded a 750-pound squat, 610-pound bench and 600-pound deadlift bringing his total to 1,960. He won his weight class and the award for the best overall lifter.
