Friday morning I got up at 5:20 a.m. on my day off to hold Kettlebell class. The rest of my day off could have been or should have been chores, training, cleaning etc. Instead I choose to "Earn My Regrets" and spend the day with Mother Nature, my Hubby Ken and my two Boxers Rogan & Lexi.
What do I mean by "Earn My Regrets"? Well, all summer long we would say, "we should take a trip to Algonquin Park, hike some trails, it will be fun". June, July, August came and still no trip to Canada's most beautiful National Park.
September came and almost went and along with it our busy fall schedule. Seems like every single weekend is booked with something. Friday was the perfect day to get in the car and go. We packed up the dogs, a picnic, the camera and away we went.
I did not want to "Regret" not going and doing our yearly tradition. Hiking is good for the soul, the scenery is unreal and to actually relax for a day with no work stress or training stress was a perfect deload day.
Everywhere you looked, beauty, trees, rocks, water, nature, animals and silence. It is so quiet at Algonquin park just the rustle of wild life running in the woods.
There really is more to life than eating, sleeping, working and training and sometimes we Athlete's loose site of that. Get out there and enjoy life for some get cut short.
What do you regret? Go fix it, get out there and "Earn Your Regrets"
