There are some rather well documented training principles -- laws, really -- that are of overriding importance in whatever system one follows.

There are at least seven overlapping principles upon which all training systems must rely if maximum effectiveness in training outcomes is to be expected.  Most training systems currently popular among athletes adhere, at least in part, to the seven grand daddy laws.  What determines whether a training system is more or less effective than another lies both in HOW these laws are implemented, and whether they are even considered at all.

Now, “good enough” is not good enough for a serious trainee.  Neither is “better”.  The serious athlete must adhere to BEST practice!  The very best methods must be implemented, or someone out there is going to have an advantage over you, and that, is NEVER going to happen!
