It isn’t easy to snag a recurring event spot at the Arnold Sports Festival. The lineup of sports and events featured at the Arnold revolves every year, bringing in new activities and dropping old ones. To return for multiple years is an honor and a mark of success.

After this year, it appears the Xtreme Powerlifting Coalition (XPC) has achieved exactly this success.

At their first meeting in 2011, the XPC Finals were held with no affiliation to the Arnold and awarded $3,000 in prize money to a number of highly regarded lifters. Two years later, in 2013, the XPC finals became a part of the Arnold Classic and ran as an affiliated event.

The XPC Finals have now moved from the original location at Veteran’s Memorial to the Ohio Expo Center.

“In 2015 the XPC Finals were at the Ohio Expo Center,” Founder and President of the  XPC Dan Dague said. “This year we grew to $15,000 in total prize money.”

The prize money this year was awarded to winners of multiple categories, including both raw and geared competitions.

“The goal for 2016 is $20,000 in total prize money,” Dague said.

If the XPC continues to grow at its current rate, it will not only reach the $20,000 goal, but will exceed that in the coming years. They continue to gain new sponsors each year, including the support of elitefts.

To compete in the XPC Finals, an individual most post a qualifying total at certified meets. More information on the XPCs can be found on their website.
